The Veteran

It is
the VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is
the VETERAN,
who salutes the Flag,

It is
the VETERAN,
who serves
under the Flag,

Now, scroll back to the picture of the gray-haired fellow with his back to the camera; click the center of the picture to enlarge it. You'll see that the man standing up from his wheel-chair, is honoring his fellow veterans!

That says a whole lot about the "generation gap" doesn't it?

Rememberance On Memorial Day

And now we lie

Indeed Reb,

About 10- years ago I visited Flanders Field while touring France and Belgium. It was a very sobering experience.

Take care, and have a nice Memorial Day.
